AN INTRODUCTION


A Special Bath FacilityWe are Anne & Andrew Stern. Our home opened in 1995 as one of the area's highest quality Residential Care Homes. It was extended in 1997 and supports 30 residents. We look after elderly residents of either gender who do not require nursing care. We typically have 25 female and 5 male residents at any time, all aged 70 or above. Presently we have24ladies and6 gentlemen.

We took over ownership in March 2000 and along with our Manager Jinny Prodger, aim to run Catherine Miller House as the best care home in Essex. To provide this a dedicated and caring team of staff has been created, and a constant re-appraisal of the changing needs of individual residents is made. Our staff attend regular training courses to ensure their knowledge of care of the elderly is extended and updated. 
                                                                    

 

We care for persons requiring regular assistance or supervision throughout the day and nights, ensuring their personal needs are fully met. The home accepts residents with a range of disabilities. These include diabetes, mild dementia (without challenging behaviour). We also have residents who are partially sighted or blind. Our home however remains homely in construction and thus we do not have special blind aids around the home.

 

OUR TEAM

The Team comprises:


Mr Andrew STERN BSc ARCS as Registered Provider.


Mrs Virginia (Jinny) PRODGER as Registered Manager.

Jinny has worked in this profession for around 20 years. She possesses a City & Guilds Advanced Certificate in Management in Care along with specialist training in Dementia Care.

3 Deputy Managers, Rachel. Jan and Nicki, ably assisted by Day & Night Senior Care Assistants.

It full-time & part-time Care Assistants providing 24-hour care, throughout the year, day and night.


The Home additionally employs support staff comprising a Cook, a Domestic Assistant and a House-Keeper. These staff are further backed by part-time cover for weekly time-off. holidays etc.

Both our owners & Manager may be contacted at the home. Jinny is totally responsible for day to day running of the home and may be approached at any time whilst in the Home, or will contact you as soon as possible if unavailable. A Delightful LoungeAlternatively, many queries may be answered by the Duty (Deputy) Care Managers, on duty 24 hours per day.

Our staff's names are displayed on badges worn on their garments. Staff categories may be identified by the colour of their uniform.
Our Manager wears formal regular clothing.
Our Deputy Managers wear a Dark Blue Tunic.
Our Care Staff wear lilac Tunics or Dresses.
Our Cleaners wear Green Dresses.
Kitchen Staff wear White.
